Not having COVID symptoms consistently for a week after the quarantine and receiving a “clear to travel” letter from my doctor is more than I can wish for as a sign of the Lord’s blessings on my next teaching trip to Russia.
Yes, I will have to be extra careful on the road and at the events. Yes, I will be following the requirements and regulations of both the Russian and American CDC, and of the airlines. And yes, I am asking my friends, my family, and my ministry partners to pray for me as I travel and for my family while I am away from home.
My itinerary in Russia this time will be very basic: three days in Karelia, three days in Belgorod, three days in Mari El, and seven days in/around Moscow. Most of the public schools and universities in Russia have just started their in-person teaching and are very cautious about inviting outside speakers. I will, however, be able to teach at some of them: those further away from the “eyes of Moscow.”
The third week of my trip falls on the beginning of the Great Lent, with extra church services in the Orthodox Church, and will be almost completely devoted to serving the evangelical communities and ministries. I am looking forward to meeting with my audiences and to presenting some new material and evidence for the Word of God!
