Yuri Shibaev grew up in a family of unbelieving parents in Bryansk, Russia. He had heard about God from his grandmother when he was seven years old, but it wasn’t until he began studying the Bible that he made a profession of faith in 1991, at the age of twenty-four.
At the prompting of his pastors, Yuri studied at the Moscow Theological Seminary of Evangelical Baptist, receiving a master’s degree in theology. He has worked as the director of the Bryansk Bible College of Evangelical Christians Baptists of the city of Bryansk. He has also served as director of church planting and educational programs at the Christian mission in Moscow.
Since 2012, Yuri has been a pastor-volunteer at God’s Grace Church in Bryansk. He is also a member of the Russian Bible Society (Moscow) and organizes services on family ministry, children’s programs, and the training of missionaries and preachers in Russia.
He has assisted FaithSearch Russian evangelist Oleg Voskresensky many times on his trips to Russia, and is now a part-time associate evangelist with FaithSearch, serving in Bryansk.
