Many people are aware that opposable thumbs are a special characteristic of mammals, especially primates. So imagine the surprise when scientists unearthed a pterosaur (reptile) in northeast China with opposable thumbs. This would enable it to climb trees, hunt for bugs, and do other activities typical of monkeys. They called it a Monkeydactyl.
