Discerning Heresy: Selections from Galatians, Colossians, 2 Peter, 1, 2, 3 John and Jude

The presence of false teaching in the last four decades of the first century was really nothing new. Jesus confronted even the Pharisees and scribes about their “teaching as doctrines the precepts of men” thereby neglecting and invalidating the Word of God (Mark 7:7ff.). But rather than attacking the false, the Bible typically and positively teaches and exhorts in the truth. It seems true in the Christian faith, as in football, that the best defense is a good offense. Our study builds a good biblical offense which will expose and put false teaching and teachers on the defensive.
