Today was the day of finals for my Open Education Institute class of public school teachers–a rare opportunity for me to test how well my material and training was actually understood by the audience. We spent four sessions on the FaithSearch Discovery during the last two weeks which allowed me to go into much detail and discussion over the most important points. Today, I was so nervous! It almost felt like I was there to be tested–not they. Will they fail me? Or will I pass… as their teacher? Praise God, most of them did actually very well and everybody passed the exam. Me included.
“My husband took a Catechism class lately and was sharing with me some of his exciting faith experiences. Now is my turn to share something I learned about God, about the Bible and about faith! I didn’t even need to prepare for the test today after I reviewed the whole material with my family after each class” –started the presentation of one of the participants
I am back in Moscow these days after spending the last weekend teaching in Northern Caucuses. I traveled through six cities doing two and even three presentations per day in the local Bible schools and churches. Some of those sessions were only an hour-and-a-half long. Some were a full four hours! Originally, some sightseeing and fun time was planned into my schedule. I was even thinking of making a couple downhill skiing runs at one of their finest resorts… Oh well, Mount Elbrus looks great even from the distance. I just couldn’t pass the opportunity to present at the largest church in the region and then also to spend time with their youth group going through the historic facts and evidence for the Bible.
“The language of facts and archaeological data speaks to them so much better than any other material. This is exactly what they need to and are willing to hear. Their faith was strengthened today and–most importantly!–they will now be able to share it with other youth in town so much more confidently and effectively. Thank you for finding time in your schedule to visit us today and please greet our American brothers and sisters for us who made it possible! ” – said their pastor.
I am gladly doing it. Many blessings to you!
