We had a blast at our 2016 Friends of FaithSearch Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction at New Hope Church, on April 29. We are grateful that 185 friends took the time to join us for good food, good laughs, and good ministry reports of changed lives. The theme of the evening was “Understanding the Times.”
Based on 1 Chronicles 12:32, the theme refers to the sons of Issachar, who “understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do.” Applied to FaithSearch, the ministry provides answers to the relevant questions of our times, as we “proclaim the Gospel with evidence to all peoples everywhere.” As we understand the times, we adapt the methods of our outreach to better reach a world without answers.
Through the sacrificial giving of our guests that evening, God provided almost $34,000 at the event toward our annual budget of $550,000. In addition, our fifth annual silent auction provided a lot of fun and raised nearly $6,200 in addition to the gifts given that night. Thanks to many generous contributors, the array of items in the auction provided something of value for everybody to entice their participation.
The comedy of Bill Arnold hit many a funny bone as he encouraged our guests to support FaithSearch, an apologetic and evangelistic ministry on the cutting edge of understand the tough faith questions people continue to ponder. We also heard ministry updates from each of the ministry evangelists, including the new regional directors.
Please pray with us as we continue to grow the youth version of FaithSearch Discovery, i.e., Operation Armor, and our Explore the Evidence Community Breakfast series. Our fully functioning Web site (event calendar, registration to events, donor pages, and blogs) will allow you to stay on the cutting edge of happenings throughout the Twin Cities; in the U.S. Regions; and around the world.
