As a professor for over twenty years, I often wondered if my students ever read the syllabus for my classes.
Professor Kenyon Wilson, University of Tennessee, found out for one of his classes. He hid a $50 bill inside a university locker and included directions for securing it in his syllabus (first come-first served).
None of the seventy-one students read the syllabus close enough to detect the offer and Professor Wilson reclaimed his $50 at the end of the term.
