There has been a conflict between the claims of evolution and biblical creation ever since Darwin in the 19th century. Science has made significant advances since then.
First, the field of genetics was discovered years after Darwin proposed his theory. The DNA molecule is now known to consist of very complex and specified information which is always the mark of intelligence, not chance. The science of intelligent design and irreducible complexity clearly points to an origin of the diversity of life groups as arising by design rather than the natural selection which Darwin proposed.
Second, the original conflict was considered to be science versus the Bible. Today it is science (evolution theory – undirected cause) versus science (intelligent design – directed cause). This is new. Both positions are scientifically testable by the observation of nature itself.
