Upon reading the heading above, some might wonder if that might be the name of a rock band, the latest religion, or even a new fast food sandwich! Some may be aware the Maccabees were a Jewish priestly family who, by the hand of God, helped to prepare the way for the incarnation of Jesus, the Son of God, to planet earth.

It’s been an incredible ride! I’m humbled by the God-ordained events which I’ve borne on my slopes, but I’m still waiting for the “big” one (more about that later). Yes, I’m Mount Moriah, home of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem – itself the size of twenty football fields, nearly 145 acres. 

In the last two issues of the Happ-0-getics I began this as a four-part series. (See the June and August 2023 issues for the evidence from the inspired Word of God and from the fossils.)
The third argument is: A global flood is supported by the evidence in the rock layers.
I am a biological scientist, not a geologist. I am persuaded by those who are, however, that there are good reasons to conclude that the sedimentary rock layers were deposited rapidly by a cataclysm such as the biblical global flood. Briefly, I will identify four.
