Last November, hundreds of fishermen on Upper Red Lake in northern Minnesota nearly joined the fish they were there to catch! Ice broke from the shoreline to strand them on an ice floe with no way to get back to land.
[Read more…]For more than three years, fourteen-year-old Isaac Ortman hasn’t slept in his bed. This Minnesota teenager has camped out continuously (“weathered”?) in blizzards, thunderstorms, and minus 38-degree nights.
Why? “It’s just fun!” His bed varies from a packed snow quinzhee to a hammock.
This summer, Isaac will attend a Boy Scout jamboree in West Virginia and also visit Washington, D.C. While there, he says he hopes President Joe Biden will invite him to sleep on the lawn of the White House.

Beginning with Abraham, God chose the Jewish people to be a separated and divinely prepared people – His witnesses and blessing to the nations (see Genesis 12ff.). Furthermore, God gave Old Testament Scripture which prophesied the coming of a Messiah who would atone for the sins of all people. Rather than extend the hope they had received to the whole world, the Jews viewed God’s offer of salvation in a nationalistic sense. Nonetheless, God was directing history, and whether they intended it or not, He used the Jewish synagogue both as a means to prepare them to anticipate their coming Messiah and as a place for Jesus to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom quickly and widely.

Former incidents caused the cancellation of spacewalks and forced astronauts to take shelter. As spaceflight increases globally, low Earth orbit is becoming crowded with satellites and space junk.
