Last year it took me nearly a year to edit and post the video from our Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction. This year, having learned from last year’s experience, and equipped with the right tools, it was a much easier process. I was able to edit and post the video after only two months! If you were unable to attend or would like to experience it again, you can see it on our Web site.
Although I have learned efficiency with these tools, it seems there is always something that goes wrong. This year, it was the audio recording of the house sound: it didn’t happen as expected. As such, the video uses only the on-camera audio, which is dominated by my laughing and other reactions, since, as operator, I was the one standing closest to the camera’s microphone. Sigh.
The annual event was held on 17 May, 2014, at Grace Church in Eden Prairie, MN. This year’s gathering featured the entertainer Michael Pearce Donley. He is co-creator and co-star of Triple Espresso: A Highly Caffeinated Comedy. (We have now had each of the three original stars host one of our events.) We were also celebrating the ministry’s 35 Years of proclaiming the Gospel with evidence. (Read more details here.)
Again, in my role as communications director, I am blessed to use my diverse abilities and experience to help make events and media projects like this happen. Although I am not as directly involved in front line ministry, I am encouraged by remembering what a teacher once pointed out, that among the earliest mentions of God filling and empowering people with His Holy Spirit was the craftsmen who would build the tabernacle and its furnishings (Exodus 35:30-36:1). I seek to use God’s gifting, and to be guided by His Spirit, each day—whether I am writing articles, editing books, managing computers, or creating DVDs.
I am pleased to be serving God in this capacity, as together we build His Kingdom by proclaiming the truth of His Gospel, and the evidence supporting it as an eyewitness account of the life and ministry of His Son Jesus. Thank you for your support and interest in my work and ministry. May God bless you for your faithfulness.
