IMMANUEL

November 23, 2022 By Dr. Don Bierle

By Dr. Don Bierle, FaithSearch President

Is God knowable? All the religions of the world would answer “No” – except one. Christianity alone claims that God has made Himself known in history. The apostle John shows his excitement as he begins his first letter,

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched – this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared, we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard…

In lieu of ministry news and prayer requests, we are using the previous Thanksgiving Paraclete newsletter and this issue of Happ-O-getics to introduce testimony and greeting from the FaithSearch staff.

Arguments

By Dr. Oleg Voskresensky, FaithSearch Russian evangelist

Dr. Oleg Voskresensky

Thomas Aquinas (1224—1274) wrote, “To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.”

Aquinas developed what are known as the Five Classical Arguments for the Existence of God. Wait. What? Was he being ironic, or was the great Medieval theologian up to something truly deep and profound here? Or both?

Meet Our Staff: Kristi Wanamaker

A Christmas Memory Became a Tradition

By Kristi Wanamaker, Director of Event Management

[Jesus] came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”  “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.

Luke 10: 38-42

To a clergy family, Christmas–though special–is also very busy and very scheduled.

When my husband retired from parish ministry, Christmas was a whole new experience for our family.  Yes, we had less on our schedule, but like everyone else, schedules were still something we had to work around.

What People Are Saying…

FaithSearch Discovery

Although I had been exposed to Christianity all my life, I struggled with so many issues that I couldn't undertstand—or wouldn't accept without understanding. These doubts circled around and around in my mind and made it easy for me to just forget the whole idea of God rather than try to accept what I did ... Read more >>

What People Are Saying…

FaithSearch International

[FaithSearch] International is making a significant contribution to the body of Christ. Dr. Bierle's FaithSearch effectively evangelizes and disciples people. It has been very well received at Wooddale Church, and has added a new dimension to our evangelism ministry. I enthusiastically recommend it.
