There is a current craze for people to discover more about their heritage by DNA testing. Typically, these tests reveal ancestry by detecting mutations in nuclear DNA. 

One American family had this test done for themselves. Not surprisingly to them, results confirmed that the parents were of European descent; their adoptive daughter and son from China were East Asian. [Read more…]

What an Incredible Design!

God made seeds to replenish the earth, even after forest fires or other destructive forces. Pit cherry seeds (North America) can be viable after 50-150 years. A seed of the sacred lotus found in China (a flowing aquatic herb of tropical Asia) was viable after 1,300 years.  [Read more…]

As of 2016, the Bible has been translated into 3,200 languages with active translation taking place in an additional 2,400. It is estimated that about 1,800 more languages still await translation to begin.

Adoption Made More Difficult

New rules on international adoption mean that more children are languishing in orphanages. “The inter-country adoption rate in the United States already has fallen by nearly 80 percent; down from a peak of nearly 23,000 foreign adoptions in 2004, to around 5,000 in fiscal year 2017.” 

Can this be acceptable to the Christian community in view of the following biblical admonition? “This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress…” (James 1:27).
