January-February 2012 Trip to Russia. Volgograd, Tula, Moscow, Amsterdam

February 22, 2012 By Dr. Oleg Voskresensky, Teacher

Volgograd-MoscowOnly a few short hours and I will be back home in MN! Amsterdam airport provided a nice brief transition time to begin an adjusting process–back to normal life. No more sleeping in overnight trains or busses; no more running around unfamiliar cities in search of unknown places; no need to always remember to introduce yourself several times a day to dozens and hundred of complete strangers…

Volgograd Teachers' ConferenceWhich task this time around was not as simple as it might seem. For some of my audiences (like churches, Bible schools, regional Christian Teachers’ Associations, etc.) I was known as an American missionary of FaithSearch International presenting the “FaithSearch Discovery” event.

January-February 2012 Trip to Russia. Asbest, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Samara, Toliatti

February 18, 2012 By Dr. Oleg Voskresensky, Teacher

Train to VolgogradThe scenery behind the train window gracefully flows left to right as I am nearing the city many people in the world know as Stalingrad. It was just as cold and the snow was blowing over the vast fields and Volga River valley back in 1943, when the Nazi armies were stopped right here and turned back. I look forward to meeting with the churches’ and teachers’ audiences of this heroic city (now called Volgograd) in the next three days.

Back in Chelyabinsk, Asbest, Ufa, Samara and Toliatti, over the last several days, my teaching schedule was so intensive that I can hardly remember how I was actually transferring from one event to another. Which actually means that these local pastors, missionaries, and university administrators were taking a good care of me–meeting me at the train station, driving me from one location to another, feeding me, giving me time to rest and setting me up for the next presentation. All I remember are their faces, their smiles and their excitement about what they were to see and hear: the Gospel with Evidence.

Well, there were also teaching times for myself when I was humbled and once again reminded of the love our great God has for each and every person…

Why should I want to be a Christian when they are all hypocrites?

February 17, 2012 By Dr. Don Bierle

First, the Christian faith is not invalidated by the actions of some Christians in history—or by how they may act today. The truth of Christianity stands or falls on the genuineness of the person of Jesus Christ, which is demonstrated in the book Surprised by Faith. Since He was not a hypocrite, we are not excused from becoming His follower just because we can find someone whose behavior is inconsistent or turns us off. [Read more…]

January-February 2012 Trip to Russia. Izhevsk, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Zlatoust

February 10, 2012 By Dr. Oleg Voskresensky, Teacher

Urals... sunbathingFour days, four cities, four night trains/buses… But most importantly–it is four degrees warmer here in Chelyabinsk! I was sunbathing this morning at -2F!

In AKM museumBack in Izhevsk, famous for being the birthplace of Kalashnikov machine-gun and the largest man made city pond in the world (10 miles across) my presentations in both secular and church audiences were definitely effected by the cold outside: nobody was in a hurry to leave the comfortable and well-heated conference rooms! Each lastedover four hours and we were still discussing the material on our way to the bus stops. Or, maybe, the weather had nothing to do with it and the topic of knowing Christ was indeed so important and so exciting?

What People Are Saying…

Surprised by Faith book

Surprised by Faith has been a "go to" book for me.  I have shared it with many people exploring faith or asking great questions about God, faith, and the Bible.  I have also had opportunity to walk a number of people through it and have seen God change lives.  I recommend it highly.

-SW Pastor Roseville, MN
