The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did a survey of 7,705 high school students during the pandemic measures enacted in 2021. It was alarming to discover that 44% reported feeling “persistently sad and hopeless.” Even more troubling was the finding that 26% of girls surveyed had contemplated suicide during the year.

The night before His crucifixion, Jesus spent the evening with His apostles, preparing them for their coming crisis of faith, which they would face following His death. One of His primary provisions was the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit:
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of Truth… He abides with you and will be in you.

The Family Research Council’s Center for Biblical Worldview conducted a nationwide survey of American adults in 2021. A robust 51% of Americans claimed to have a biblical worldview. [A worldview is like a lens consisting of our presuppositions, convictions, and values through which we see and understand the world.]
[Read more…]The American Medical Association (AMA) urges the removal of sex designation on birth certificates. According to them, designating sex at birth “perpetuates a view that sex designation is permanent and fails to recognize the medical spectrum of gender identity.”

I have found the Upper Room discourse (John 13-17) to be one of the most informative and life-changing passages in the New Testament. It reveals the heart of Jesus in a very personal way. That night, before His arrest in the Garden and before His crucifixion the next day, the apostle John tells us Jesus wanted to show His apostles (and eventually us) the “full extent of His love” (John 13:1, NIV).
