Quotable!

Deon Joseph, a law enforcement consultant, commented on the Supreme Court’s Kennedy v. Bremerton School District decision. “The court affirmed that if you can use God’s name in vain… and verbally disrespect and dismiss His existence in public without hindrance, then others should be able to praise Him, thank Him, and talk to Him in public,” he said.

The Christian Faith in America Today

According to polling in 2022 by the Gallup organization, 81% of Americans believe in God, down from 87% in 2017. However, the Pew Research Center recently released a report that cited only 64% who identified religiously as Christians. Wherever the truth lies, both agree that Christianity is in decline in America.

Troubling U.S. Evangelical Worldview

Recent polls reveal that only 6% of evangelical Christians have a worldview which aligns with Scripture. For example, 65% agree that each person is born innocent in the eyes of God (see Psalm 51:5). Furthermore, 43% of U.S. evangelicals believe that Jesus was a great teacher but was not God (see Luke 22:70). Finally, 37% now believe that gender identity is a matter of choice (see Genesis 1:27).

In spite of these negative trends, we have a promise from God regarding His Church: “the powers of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18). God will sustain a witness through His Church until He comes again.

The Spirit of Thanksgiving

“The Landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth, Mass. Dec 22nd 1620” by Currier and Ives.

By Dr. Don Bierle, FaithSearch President

One hundred and one men, women, and children sailed for sixty-six days across the Atlantic Ocean in 1620. Their first act at Plymouth (Cape Cod, Massachusetts today) when their feet hit the ground was to kneel in prayer.

After one winter in the New World, only fifty-three survived disease and starvation. They celebrated with thanksgiving in the fall of 1621, along with ninety Wampanoag Indians, including their leader and ally, Massasoit.

Something I Am Thankful For…

By Julie Braun

Jeremiah 27:11 holds personal meaning for my husband and me.  On August 17, 1977, my then fiancée had a very severe accident while working on a car.  The jack slipped away, and the car fell on him, thrusting a bolt through his skull.

What People Are Saying…

FaithSearch Discovery

This is a wonderful collection of information everyone should hear!  I was ripped to shreds as a freshman in college—some science majors teamed up to tear down Christianity.  I didn't have anything tangible to throw back.  I have spend many years rebuilding—"discovering."  I'd love to meet up with them again.
