By the Numbers

• 2024: The 100^th anniversary of the Indian Citizenship Act (June 2, 1924) which granted birthright citizenship to all Native Americans born in the U.S. 
• 574: The number of federally recognized Indian tribes (U.S. Department of the Interior).
• 6,400,000: The number of Americans claiming (in the 2020 census) whole or partial American Indian ancestry.

How “Christian” Are We?

According to a Pew Research Center poll in 2017, there are as many adults in the U.S. who hold to at least one New Age belief as there are who believe in God (62%)! For the survey, people were asked their view of four New Age concepts: 

1. believe spiritual energy can be located in physical things
2. believe in psychics
3. believe in reincarnation
4. believe in astrology

Social Media: Toxic? 

Can one’s self-image be affected by involvement in social media? Yes, according to an unscientific study of sixty-six female freshmen at York University. 

Half refrained from all social media, the other half continued. After one week, the abstainers scored significantly better on questionnaires rating body image satisfaction and self-esteem than the women in the other group.
